Made in Japan How to Use? Place the Air Checker II on soundboard of your guitar, under the strings. Put the sponge-like fixing wedge on the Air Checker II between the 3rd and 4th strings to stabilise the mat in the correct position. Size 29cms x 29cms x 0.7cms approx. Weight less than 200gms. The core substance of the Air Checker II is Silica Gel Type B which is securely sealed in the compound sheets. DO NOT WASH THE MAT IN A WASHING MACHINE OR SUBJECT IT TO ROUGH TREATMENT to prevent the Silica Gel from leaking from the mat. Silica Gel may damage the finish of the guitar and it is poisenous to pets and people. If the mat becomes badly soiled it should be replaced and not repeatedly washed. The Silican gel has numerous microscopic holes in its surface and absorbs moisture from the air. It also absorbs dust and so its performance degrades after about 12 months. Silica Gel is toxic. Do not swallow. Keep out of the reach of children. Air Checker II is made from a special compound mat called "Humnidity Regulating Elastomer Sheet" developed by Narukoshi Kasei Co Ltd of Japan. This mat is composed of 3 different subtances. In the centre are sealed a large number of Silica Gell Type B crystals. The purpose of the Gel is to maintain the relative humidity close to 50% at all times. When the humidity is more than 50% the mat begins to absorb moisture. When the humidity is less than 50%, the mat releases moisture and so begins to humidify the air. You could say that the mat is breathing water vapour in and out. The Silica Gel is sandwiched between a special film called "Flecion(R)" developed by OG Corporation of Japan. This film is able to transmit tha allow the passage of moisture, but it is a water proof material. The silica gel in the core can absob and emit water vapour through this film, but water is prevented from coming into contact with the core. The outer textiles are a Non-woven Fabric made from Polyurethane which will not cause a reaction between varnish, nitrocellulose lacquer or shellac/French polish, whichever is used to finish your guitar. The Flecron and Non-woven Fabric are mutually interwoven and integrated so that they will never separate. No glue or stitching is used! Price: £14.25 |
