The Yamaha CPX15 Mark II is a captivating instrument to play. It has a warm and engaging tone when played fingerstyle and another palette of powerful sounds available when played with a plectrum.

The 3-way ART pickup system gives truely naturalistic amplified sounds and I found I wanted to use only the individual pickup mixer controls leaving all the EQ on the pre-amp flat.

The guitar is handmade in Japan and each one carries a unique serial number. The build quality is immaculate.

  • Solid spruce soundboard
  • Solid Indian rosewood back and sides
  • Compensated saddle
  • Off-set strap post on heel
  • Separate and very convenient battery compartment
  • Position markers on fingerboard and side of neck at 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 15 and 17 (each fingerboard marker a variation on one visual ("signal flag") theme!!)
