The NTX is a genuine hybrid - the overall design architecture is that of a steel string acoustic (specifically the Yamaha APX) with a 22 fret narrow and curved neck and a bridge located high up a wide lower bout. However it is nylon strung and has an innovative pickup / preamp system that does real justice to the unplugged sound with a higher than average feedback threshhold.

Special Set Up

We have successfully set up Yamaha NX series guitars to give a brighter tone and lower action than they come with as standard.

This involves restringing - strings of your choice, making and fitting a new lower, compensated bone saddle, and setting the neck relief.

You pay only for the strings and the blank bone. Please phone when ordering.

Very attractively finished, crowned perhaps by its oval soundhole with mahogany, padauk and abalone rosette!

The NTX, and the companion NCX guitars, come into their own when plugged in, quoting Guitarist magazine again -
