 Alhambra J-3 Acoustic Steel Strung Guitar - neck and body
Alhambra have taken all their experience making great hand-crafted Spanish guitars and produced this distinctive acoustic steel string Jumbo model. What is almost certainly unique is the use of the Spanish heel at the heart of the build. This design approach, used for many high-quality classical guitars, brings the end of the neck right into the body cavity so that neck and body are a single integrated component of the guitar. This gives exceptional solidity and integrity to the instrument. We keep the spruce-topped cutaway model with Fishman Premium electronics in stock at all times. The J3 has not yet been reviewed on Harmony Central but the J2 - the same guitar but with ovangkol back and sides - has been and received 10/10 for sound, action, reliability and customer support. You can read the full review here. All models have solid Indian rosewood back and sides, an ebony fingerboard, maple binding, a rosette made of natural veneers and a gloss finish. The scale length is 650mm, the neck has a truss rod, the machine heads are gold plated, and there is a compensated two-part saddle. Position markers are set at frets 3, 5, 6, 9, 12, 15, 17 and 19. Other versions of this guitar include a left-handed option and a standard non-cutaway jumbo. The guitar comes with a gloss finish but can be bought as a matt.
