 Liikanen H Model Classical Guitar, diagonal body The H series is one of the 2 concert guitar series hand-built by the Liikanen brothers themselves in their Finnish workshop. Total production of the H is only about 25 a year so this is a relatively rare as well as a wonderful-sounding instrument. The model we have has a spruce soundboard, the patented LRS(R) system and a french polished finish. This guitar does not shout about its quality but hold it for a few moments and the attention to detail of this hand-built and hand finished instrument shows through. The fret ends are embedded in the ebony neck. The saddle is cut to enhance the intonation of individual strings and so is the nut. The rosette is beautifully chosen and the bindings and purflings, although understated in typical Liikanen fashion, are a delight. The instrument is light in weight and yet has a surprisingly large dynamic range. This is an instrument built for performance. It has all the dynamic range and tonal possibilities that come from the LRS(R) system coupled with an AAA spruce soundboard. The french polished finish is impeccable.
