Delivery Costs for Classical Guitars
We have been working to find alternative couriers for our internet customers - in the UK and elsewhere - and have cut and simplified the additional charges we make to ship guitars around the world. The prices below apply as at 8th January 2008 but may change without prior notice. Please enquire if you want confirmation or if your country is not listed here.
UK mainland deliveries remain free, but we have been able to make deliveries to Scottish Islands and Northern Ireland free as well.
All Packing and Courier prices include VAT (sales tax) for orders to the European Union and exclude VAT (Sales Tax) for orders to the rest of the world (and to the UK Channel Islands).

Other makes of case can be substituted for the Hiscox (used as an example here because of its popularity). Choosing an alternative case is unlikely to affect the packing and courier prices quoted here.
Adding some strings or a small accessory to an order does not change the Packing and Courier price.
We always ship by the most economical reliable courier to the customer's address. If you need a faster delivery time than that estimated please contact us for a quotation (prices for faster deliveries can be several times greater than those quoted here).
Buying from Outside of the UK - Some General Points
Orders for strings and accessories - please phone / contact us for courier and insurance costs outside of the UK.
Sales to countries outside of the European Union are free of VAT (sales tax) but the buyer is responsible for any import duties in their own country.
We only ship guitars to destinations outside of the mainland UK in hard cases. The international courier insurance is unlikely to pay compensation if a guitar packed only in cardboard is damaged while in transit. (We suggest a "flite" case and offer a choice at reasonable prices).
When we get an order from outside the UK, we always provide a quotation for courier costs and we do not process payment on the credit card until the customer has confirmed that they are happy to pay the costs we have quoted.
We accept payment by credit card, PayPal or bank transfer. If payment is by credit card then we ship only to the person named on the card at the address at which the card is registered and we need to be able to verify this address independently - a home phone number registered to the same person at the same address usually sorts this out. If the card is an Amex then we invite Amex to verify the transaction which they do very thoroughly. All of these steps give us and our customers peace of mind that the transactions are not fraudulent. We add a 2.5% surcharge to PayPal payments to cover the additional costs involved. We also accept payment by cheque in sterling drawn on a UK bank.
