How the Scheme Works
The scheme is totally free - there are no fees to pay and no obligations on either teacher or student.
We don't want the scheme to be abused though and so what we ask is the following -
- The teacher registers with us - providing contact details, and evidence that they are a bona fide teacher. This could be one or more of
-
details of the institution at which they work (if applicable),
- their own personal/professional web site
- a letter head
- the name of 2 long-term pupils who can provide a reference.
- The teacher updates us when their personal details change
- We publish discounts available on our web site (and we reserve the right to change the amount of discount or to withdraw the scheme entirely at any time without prior notice)
-
The teacher or any of their students may purchase instruments from us in the
normal way. If before payment is taken we are advised that the guitar is
being purchased under the scheme we will
-
contact the teacher for verification,
- apply the appropriate discount, and
- dispatch the instrument to the teacher's address (from where the student may collect it).
- Teachers can de-register with us at any time without obligation.
-
When registering, teachers can indicate whether or not they want to promote
themselves by having their name, contact details, and a brief note published
on our web site.
Teachers can register in advance or when asked to do so by a student who has
Discounts Available
The scheme applies to all the guitars we sell with a basic discount of 3%
(there a very few exceptions to this, please see "Exclusions" below).
However much higher discounts - up to 15% - apply to the typical instruments students buy - standard classical guitars priced up to £750.
| Guitar Price | Discounts on the Liikanen Kantare range (excluding H and A models) |
Discounts on the Alhambra range (excluding Crossover and Steel String models but including cutaways and electro acoustics) |
Discounts on the Prudencio Saez range |
|---|---|---|---|

| up to £400 | 10% | 4.5% | 6% |
| up to £500 | 12.5% | 5% | 7.5% |

Discounts on other Items
Teachers and students buying strings in bulk (more than 3 sets in an order) or guitar cases and/or accessories in a single order to a value greater than £100 can request a 5% discount - even though our string and accessory prices are already very competitive!!
Discounts are applied to each line on an order so that guitar cases accessories or strings bought at the same time do not automatically qualify for the discount applied to the guitar.
Discounts under this scheme may not be combined with any other discount
offered - other discounts include special offers and seasonal price
reductions. When such discounts apply the customer can opt to take the
generally offered sale discount or the discount under this scheme but not
both.
Exclusions
Exclusions and exceptions are as follows -
- Discounts are applied to each line of an order so that guitar cases accessories or strings bought at the same time do not automatically qualify for the discount applied to a guitar.
- However cases, accessories or strings purchased at the same time as a guitar may qualify for a discount in their own right - more than 3 sets of strings, cases and/or accessories worth in total more than £100
- The following are all Excluded - Acoustice steel string guitars, Gypsy Jazz Guitars, Travel Guitars
- Instruments offered for sale by our customers (Customers' Instruments for Sale) are excluded from the scheme.
- Instruments listed in our "Specials and Special Offers" section are excluded from the scheme
Why This Scheme?
We believe in the quality of the instruments that we sell and in their value-for-money.
We belive that Liikanen (as recommended by the European Guitar Teachers Association) are particularly suitable for guitar students and that they have an unbeatable "quality per pound" ratio.
We know that we cannot induce teachers to recommend guitars they do not believe in and so have devised this scheme which will run on the merits of the instruments or not at all.
