Hannabach Goldin Strings on my Legend Classical Guitar
My Legend Classical was handmade in Canada with the finest ingredients, by Jeff Sigurdson. The guitar is a Nylon string Crossover model with a wonderful blend of steel string playability and classical guitar tone and projection. It has AAA grade Engelmann spruce top, solid rosewood back & sides, and satin mahogany neck. This comfortable player also has natural rosewood binding on the top & back, an ebony fingerboard with a 13th fret "Legend" inlay, and an abalone rosette. Gold Schaller tuners with ivoroid buttons finish of this package of tonal ecstasy.
The classic pairing of premium Indian rosewood and Engelmann spruce, yields great bass with incredibly warm and complex overtones. I have tried no fewer than 8 brands/types of string and settled for Hannabach Goldins which produce a brilliant, clear tone, these strings really bring the guitar to life. There is plenty of clarity on the treble strings though and when pushed they really sing out, giving a wide dynamic range. The bass is very full and resonant, but not overpowering.
Indeed I have just returned from a trip to Spain where I bought a vintage Flamenco/Classsical crossover with Cedar top and Cypress back and sides. The guitar was strung with DAddario Pro Arte high tension which produced a sound similar to that of a cheap plywood classical. Once I replaced with a set of Hannabach Goldins this guitar came into its own, with a bright , vibrant tone and amazing resonance. Hannabach Goldins are a truly high class concert standard string which transform guitars, give them a try.
