The CG Series - Standard Models

The CG series features 10 different models and has been designed with a focus on improving resonance and playability.

The CG Series features the following models, all available in either cedar (C) or spruce (S) soundboards:

  • CG192S / CG192C
  • CG182S / CG192C
  • CG162S / CG162C
  • CG142S / CG142C
  • CG122MS / CG122MC

Neck design, grip and finish have been improved to create a greater left hand fit and allow for lower string height to improve playability.

The headstock features the traditional Yamaha tuning fork design, bridges are kept simple and complimented with warm colours and detailed rosettes.

Common features across the CG Series:

  • All models available with either spruce or cedar soundboard.
  • Intricate rosette designs.
  • Uncomplicated headstock design featuring Yamaha's traditional "Tuning fork" logo.
  • Lower string height for greater playability.
  • Improved neck strength due to a 3-ply laminated neck design.
  • Matt finish on the back of the neck to provide grip and allow the hand to move smoothly.
  • Improved saddle slot design.
  • Easy to grasp and turn tuning pegs.
  • Thinner bridge plate and Bracing pattern to effectivley transfer string vibrations to the soundboard.
  • Gloss finish on all models apart from the CG122 which is matt.
